About Us
Portway Infant School is a non denominational Infant School catering for boys and girls aged four to seven years.
Built in 1963 with later additions the school is situated in splendid grounds within an established residential area on the Western edge of Andover.
There is a strong emphasis on core skills with opportunities for outdoor learning. The pupils often work on cross curricular themes and link learning to educational visits and a range of visitors and theatre groups.
The school is well resourced for participative learning with networked computers and interactive whiteboards.
It is proposed to admit up to 90 pupils to the reception year making a total roll of 270. The school has 3 form entry, arranged in 3 wings of the school, one for each year group making 9 classes.
Normally children remain at this school until the end of the summer term in the educational year in which they are 7 years old, when they transfer to Junior School.
