I went to portway scholl from 63-66. My teacher was Mrs. Page, I'll always have fond memories of her and the school. I remember the headmaster was " pop " Read. I was there when the portway penguine was delivered. It was the fuselage of an Avro anson for the kids to play in. They flew ansons at the time at RAF andover. The landing path was right over the football field. I used to love watching the planes land.I've often wondered what happened to some of my old classmates. Good to see the school still there. |

I attended Portway back in 1966 (I think!), and I have very fond memories of the Plane that we could all play in. My father was in the RAF, so we moved a lot, but all the teachers and children at Portway were very kind and made me feel at home. |

My Dad was in the RAF at Andover and I attended Portway from from 1972-1975. My third year teacher was Miss Jennings. I remember the Plane that each class took turns in Playing on (allocated a week at a time) and the Steam traction engine. |

Loved looking at the photos, I started at Portway in 1962 & left in 1967/68 to go to Balksbury & then onto Harrow Way, I remember we had an old aeroplane in the school grounds for the children to play on, also we had a swimming pool and an area with small animals, very happy days, the photo of the hall looked very familiar, such a long long time ago now,the teachers that I remember was Mrs Cundy & Mrs Cooper how about that for a memory. |

Great website. I love the calendar page, it is a tremendous help for when I have lost the hard copy of the newsletter. My eldest started Portway Infants in 1997, next in 1999, next in 2004, next in 2005, next in 2007 and my baby starts this September 2008. Always looked after and greeted with happy faces. Fantastic school - wish I had more kids to send! |

I recently ran a workshop and two children from Portway Infants attended - Omar and Alicia both from Year 2. We discussed how Andover ought to look in the next 20 years and then made a new town out of clay. Both children were full of ideas and created some incredible clay models. They contributed lots to a fabulous day and it was a real pleasure to work with them. Thanks Portway Infants for your support of Andover Vision. |

Hi, I have enjoyed looking at your website as it has bought back some fond memories. My two children Samantha and Robert Jones attended Portway Infants and Juniors until we moved in 1997. From 1995 to 1997 I was a teaching assistant in Miss Redman's reception class,(I was Mrs. Jones then!) a job I loved. I now work as a TA/Cover Supervisor in the foundation class of a Lincolnshire village school. Samantha has graduated from University of Warwick with a BA(Hons) in History and is now doing a PGCE course at Warwick. Robert has just completed his A-levels and is working towards his Gold Arts award. Portway obviously gave them both a great start to their education - thank you. Hello to any staff members who might remember us. |

The website is great, and easy to use. We are already missing the great teachers and friends at portway infants, and hope that our new school in Munich makes us feel as welcome as portway did. Thankyou kindly from Debbie,Samuel and Harry. |
